El Paso, Texas — The El Paso Center for Diabetes is proud to announce a generous $50,000 gift from Integrity Wound Care, a contribution that will directly support the construction of the Center’s new facility and the expansion of life-changing services for those affected by diabetes across the region.

With over 15% of El Paso residents living with diabetes—significantly above the national average—the Center plays a vital role in improving health outcomes through Diabetes Self-Management Education classes, Medical Nutrition Therapy, free walk-in blood glucose and A1C screenings, and free youth camps for children and teens with Type 1 Diabetes. This funding marks a pivotal step in strengthening that mission.

The new 6,024 sq. ft. facility, currently under construction, is set to open in late spring 2025 and will include: An auditorium-style classroom for community education; A state-of-the-art teaching kitchen; Private consultation rooms for individualized care; A healing garden to support holistic wellness and community programming.

These additions will allow the Center to expand its programs, including Diabetes Self-Management Education, Medical Nutrition Therapy, free walk-in A1C and glucose screenings, and youth camps for children and teens living with Type 1 Diabetes.

“At Integrity Wound Care, we’ve seen firsthand how diabetes can deeply affect the lives of our loved ones. That’s why this contribution to the El Paso Center for Diabetes is so meaningful to us. Their goal is the same as ours at Integrity—to provide advanced regenerative wound care that heals and also prevents life-altering outcomes like infection and amputation,” said Jerry Showers, President and CEO. “We believe in giving back to the community that shaped us, and this donation demonstrates our commitment to supporting organizations that make a real difference in people’s lives every day.”

“At the El Paso Center for Diabetes, we’re proud to serve as a trusted health partner for individuals at every stage of their diabetes journey,” said Sandra Gonzalez, CEO. “With the invaluable support of the Paso del Norte Health Foundation and a generous contribution from Integrity Wound Care, this expansion allows us to further our mission—to educate and empower individuals with the resources and support they need to manage their health and thrive.
